If you go to Sephora frequently, as I do, you’d probably seen the display of the new Brazilian skincare brand, Sol de Janeiro. The product packaging and the fact that their creams are infused with powerful Amazonian plants attracted me because I know how powerful these plants are for nourishing the skin. That is why when the brand approached me to see if I was interested in trying the line for a review, I accepted more than gladly. My skin is quite dry, and even though Miami humidity is always high, the use of AC is essential but also contributes to making my skin drier.
Sol de Janeiro sent me three products to try: Açai Body Power Cream, Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, and Brazilian Kiss. I tried all three these past three weeks as part of my daily body care routine, and I certainly intend to keep using the Açai Body Power Cream and the Brazilian Kiss, because I really fell for them. The line’s components are pure acai oil, cupuaçu butter, and coconut oil.
Açai is a great fruit from the Amazon that fights free radicals and aids in keeping your skin moisturized. Another ingredient these creams have is Cupuaçu butter; I have to tell you I had no idea what it was, so did my research. It comes from Cupuaçu fruit tree, from the cacao family. I found out that it stabilizes emulsions and moisturizes the skin.
The third ingredient is Coconut oil, which was what I used daily before trying Sol de Janeiro. All three ingredients are super nourishing and conditioning, so the skin stays hydrated all day long.

The line uses Amazonian plants with powerful hydrating and nourishing properties such as pure de açai oil, cupuaçu butter, and coconut oil.
This exquisite rosy cream looks as beautiful as a berry mousse; it’s super rich without the heaviness of most body creams. It absorbs quickly so you can get dressed immediately. This cream contains particles of mica power to add a nice Brazilian glitter to the skin. The scent is also amazing but soft, which is paramount for me because I hate when fragrances are too strong and interfere with my perfume. For me, this cream is on my next Sephora shopping list.
Brazilians call “the Butt” the Bum Bum, and this product is formulated to firm the skin. It comes with Guaraná extract, which is another Amazonian plant that contains three more times caffeine than coffee. Many beauty brands have been using caffeine in skincare formulas claiming that it contributes to achieving a firmer looking skin. The scent is the only thing that I didn’t like because in my opinion, is too strong. But if you like the scent you’ll love it
This product is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! My lips tend to get chapped, so I try to condition them as frequently as possible, especially because I love wearing red lipstick. The Brazilian Kiss is another product from this line I totally love! It has a dulce de leche scent, but it doesn’t have the taste. The Brazilian Kiss certainly is a great choice for lip-conditioning. I Love it!
