I want to talk about the latest campaign from one of my favorite skincare brands: Dr. Murad: The Eyes Up campaign. Why? Because we’re all digitally hyper-connected, and that can contribute to accelerating our skin’s aging process. First of all, according to Dr. Murad research, four days in front of your computer is the same as 20 minutes in the mid-day sun on your skin. Pretty scary, right?
On the other hand, that digital dependency is causing us high levels of anxiety and stress, which is affecting our skin. Dr. Murad identified that we’re all under huge levels of “cultural stress” due to our dependency on our digital devices and the urge to know what’s going on in our digital world. So, what Dr. Murad is inviting all of us to connect more on a personal level, and enjoy those moments to live a happier life.
“As a dermatologist, I believe that healthy skin is a direct reflection of how you live your life. But today, nearly all of us are living in an increasingly stressful, always-on environment,” said Dr. Howard Murad. “The irony of technological advancement is that we are more digitally connected than ever before, yet less connected to one another in meaningful ways. This has profound implications for our skin, health, and ultimately happiness.”
So I took the pledge and spent this weekend practically disconnected from my phone, and didn’t even open my computer. I must confess that I enjoyed the weekend very much, I cooked and spent more time with friends and loved ones at home. We also talked about how annoying it is to go out with someone who’s constantly checking the phone and not paying attention to what we’re saying. Yes, we’re all digitally dependable, we feel anxious if we forget the phone when we go out as if something terrible is happening and we are unable to do something about it. The truth is that most of the times, we find out that nothing that important was going on, and anxiety prevented us from enjoying the moment to its fullest.
Are you ready to take the pledge?
Murad also sent me these three products from its Environmental Shield Collection of formulas: Advanced Active Radiance Serum, Essential-C Night Moisture and, City Skin Overnight Detox Moisturizer. I already used the serum, and I love it because it feels super refreshing and helps to improve my complexion, adding brightness, clarity, and radiance.
The second product is Murad Essential-C Night Moisture, which acts while you sleep. Its components are Vitamins A, C, and E that encourage cell turnover to improve skin firmness.
The third is one of the latest Murad’s additions to its Environmental Shield Collection: City Overnight Detox Moisturizer. The cream not only moisturizes your skin but detoxifies it overnight from the pollutants that have accumulated during the day. Its key ingredients are Marrubium Plant Stem-Cells, which neutralize pollutants and strengthen skin’s barrier while you sleep. A concentrated form of Vitamin C to help brighten and even skin’s tone, and to correct sun damage. The formula also contains a botanical blend of sunflower, cucumber, and barley that contribute to nourishing skin’s moisture barrier, reversing pollution-related dehydration, restore youthful texture and smooth lines and wrinkles.
I have to tell you that the three of them are great, but the Overnight Detox Moisturizer is going to stay as part of my nightly skincare routine since I’ve noticed a real improvement in my complexion.
