Today I’m proud to introduce you ADAIA SWIMWEAR a Venezuelan brand entering the international market
I hope you all had a great weekend! I’m very proud to introduce you ADAIA SWIMWEAR, a line created by 27-year-old Venezuelan: Arianna Marin Margiotta. This post is the first of a weekly series I decided to create about Venezuelan Fashion Designers and female entrepreneurs whose designs are ready to compete in the international market.
On the other hand, I’m thrilled to be able to show the world the other face of Venezuelans, those who decided to take the risk of crossing borders and introduce their creations to the world. It is never easy to leave your country and start a new venture, it takes courage, talent, and hard work, but If you’re determined to succeed, you will!
Since summer is already here, SWIMMIAMI is around the corner; we’re all buying swimsuits and beachwear, I decided to start the series with ADAIA SWIMWEAR. Can you believe that Arianna created a profitable business in less than a year? She already introduced ADAIA in the highly competitive Colombian market and, now is in the process to bring it to the US. Even though Arianna has always been passionate about fashion, she didn’t study Fashion Design; she studied Communications in Caracas and has a Master’s degree in International business from Instituto de Empresa in Madrid. Her studies have given a solid foundation and the strategic mindset on how to successfully market her brand.
Arianna was born and raised in Margarita Island, Venezuela, one of the most beautiful islands in The Caribbean. In Margarita, going to the beach is part of your daily life, and for Arianna, it is the perfect peaceful spot to think over and reinvent herself. Her designs evoke magnificent beaches, ecological sanctuaries, and at the same time a cosmopolitan vibe. As a Yoga practitioner, she dedicated each session to move on from her life in the corporate world, and to the beginning of this new stage as a designer and entrepreneur. As a result, she chose to name her Brand: ADAIA which means “To dedicate” in Sanskrit.
Arianna’s style is minimalistic, she loves clean lines and says she could wear only black and beige forever. Thus, she was always looking for solid swimsuits and got frustrated of not finding solid color pieces, in black, white or navy, to suit her taste and style. Therefore, she decided to design and make her bikinis and swimsuits. Her friends were fascinated and started to ask her if she could make them swimwear and everything began to flow. Soon, she was selling her line at different boutiques and Pop-ups in Caracas.
She didn’t expect such a huge demand so suddenly and realized that what she started as a hobby became a business in less than a year. Her father an entrepreneur himself, encourage her to expand her brand to other markets. She decided to explore first, the highly competitive Colombian market with great success. A few months ago, she came to the US to start introducing her line through different retailers.
Arianna uses the highest quality Italian and US fabrics to make her swimsuits. Every swimsuit adapts flawlessly to the body due to its hidden seams and double lycra.
ADAIA second collection VIDHA means “To focus and to make” in Sanskrit, a perfect name to represent the current moment in Arianna’s life as well as her brand’s expansion. Soon we’ll see ADAIA at a very chic boutique in the Miami Design District.
